Electro-Mechanical Assembler


Chai combines hardware, software, and wetware to bring easy-to-use DNA diagnostics to everyone. Chai's devices and test kits are deployed directly into the field, eliminating costly and slow centralized testing. Our networked devices enable distributed applications, and have enormous implications for scientific research, global health, agtech, food/water safety, and the environment. Most recently, we've deployed our COVID-19 environmental and surveillance testing solutions to organizations around the world.
We are looking for a reliable full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler who takes pride in building high quality hardware assemblies to join our team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build, rework, and repair electro-mechanical and optical assemblies
  • Maintain and complete build related documentation
  • Report technical and procedural issues related to hardware builds
  • Proactively recommend quality and productivity improvements
  • Conduct inventory counts
  • Receive freight shipments, pack and ship orders, and anything else needed to support operations

Who We're Looking For

  • HS Diploma/GED, AS in a technical discipline a plus
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Great hand-eye coordination and dexterity to handle small, delicate electro-mechanical and optical assemblies
  • Observant, detail oriented, and well organized
  • Demonstrated patience to perform repetitive tasks accurately
  • Ability to closely follow procedures and assembly diagrams to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Great communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Familiarity using computers and electro-mechanical test/assembly equipment (soldering iron, power tools, etc.)
  • Experience working in a biotech hardware environment a plus

What We Offer

  • $20 to $24/hour depending on experience
  • Paid Holidays + 10 days PTO/year
