FastOrange B Agar (6 x 170 mL)
Highlights
- Detect all beer spoiling bacteria in the brewing process and packaged products
- Acid-producing beer spoilers can be differentiated from other growth by visible color change
- Specific colonies can be identified by PCR analysis
Description
PIKA FastOrange B Agar is a culture medium developed to detect bacterial contamination in the brewing process and packaged products. The media rapidly grows all beer-spoiling bacteria, while suppressing the growth of brewer's yeast and most other yeasts. The media changes color from violet to yellow upon growth of acid-producing strains, allowing the spoilage potential of growth to be assessed.
Fast Orange B Agar is provided sterile in ready-to-use bottles. Simply heat the agar in a water bath or microwave, and pour your plates. No autoclaving is necessary.
